The World Health Organization (WHO) released new international growth standards in 2006. The CDC recommends that US health care providers use the WHO growth charts to monitor growth for infants and children ages 0-2 years of age and use the CDC growth charts to monitor growth for children 2 and older. Please note that the WHO charts reflect normal growth for breastfed babies and that if a provider is using old charts that a breastfed baby will look undernourished after 2-3 months.
